My Media
Miss Roylance
Monday 4th Septmember
Newspapers
I liked reading the Metro when I travelled on the bus and underground to work. I could read all the important stories plus the horoscope and cartoon by the time we pulled up to the school gates. If I visit my parents, I flick through the Telegraph on Saturday particularly the magazine. Really I feel I should read the Guardian.
Magazines
I hardly ever read them -just newspaper supplements. As a student I used to read NME most weeks. Sometimes I buy a glossy women's monthly if I'm on a long boring train journey-but i'm nearly always more bored as a result.
Books
Currently I'm reading 'We need to talk about Kevin' -bought from the charity shop on Saturday. Recent books included Northanger Abbey for school. And the last before that was a Terry Pratchett.
TV
Shows I am obssessed with are ER and Scrubs. I enjoyed Shipwrecked. I like sitcoms and I am a news junkie. But I really don't seem to have much time to watch t.v. It's useful as a way to switch off from work. Just got a freeview box -it doesn't work very well.
Films
Top 5 films in no particular order could include:
Donnie Darko
Lord of the Rings
The Princess Bride
X-Men
Much Ado About Nothing
Radio
I used to listen to X-Fm in London. I quite like soppy love song style shows when i'm in that frame of mind. Recently I have a digital radio in my house and so have caught some BBC4,6 and 7 shows.
Ads
I like the Citroen ad -'Alive with technology' dancing car. Mainly due to the music. I dislike the cosmetics adverts aimed at my demographic- the mock scientific language doesn't fool me. Beer adverts can be great.
New Media
Well obviously I'm trying to embrace blogging. And recently got given a i-pod so when I get the internet sorted i'll be buying my music on-line -perhaps not? New media -I might be out of date already!

Welcome to Blogger
New school, new technology. In less than two weeks I will commence work at Kings of Wessex School. The purpose of this blog will initially be as a platform to display students' great ideas, but eventually it should become a forum for discussion and learning - if my technology skills are up to it! Speed on September. Miss Roylance
